What units do you want your answer in?

Why are you asking?
What is your price range?
What line of work are you in?
Where will you be working?
Married? Kids?
Are you planning on moving to HSV? from where?

Hi miguk,

The housing market in the Huntsville area is really a buyers market. Now there are areas that homes do not stay on the market too long, but for the majority of the area you will have your pick. We are not in nearly as bad a situation as in California, Florida, Arizona etc. but homes are staying on the market longer than usual. As Charles was getting at, a lot depends on what area you want to live in, size of home, price range, schools etc.

Just a quick overview for you. May of 2008 stats have Madison County homes selling for 98% of list price and average days on market is 97. May of 2007 homes in Madison County sold for just over 98% of list price and the average days on market was 76. I don't think I can link you to this report but DM if you would like with your email and I will send it to you.

I have experience with the house market in Five Points. I sold my house for 98% of list price. It was on the market for less than 45 days. I know two other couples that have very similar results. I was extremely happy with how my house sold. My house was in the Historical District, so was one of the other two I mentioned. The other was on the boundary of the Historic District, on Clinton Avenue.
