This thread would be great for us who want to move and allow us to read what other possible movers are thinking.
1) Current City and State?
2) Why do you want to leave?
3) 2nd and 3rd choice cities?
4) What’s currently holding you back from moving?
5) Anything else you want to tell us that we don't know?
6) If already in Huntsville, what do you like, dislike, pleasant surprises, regrets?
1) Five miles east of Monument, CO on the Palmer Divide between Colorado Springs and Denver
2) No kids on our street, our kids have no friends; Wife doesn't like cold and snow (204 inches of snow 2006-2007, norm is about 100 inches); My company has five times bigger presence in Huntsville than in all of Colorado; It is fun to live and experience different places
3) Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, Aliso Viejo or somewhere near there in Orange County, CA where there are good schools and lots of jobs nearby
4) Not much, our home is for sale and we're working with a Huntsville realtor
5) I'm on a diet
6) Not in Huntsville yet, but I like the combination of amenities and spaciousness (Monument is very spacious but it lacks amenities, LA has everything but it is way too crowded); Not looking forward to heat and humidity, prefer Colorado cool and sunny weather.

Hi Charles,
Thank you for starting this thread.
Current City and State
Whittier, California
Why do you want to leave?
Desire lower cost of living, affordable rent and housing, slower pace, simpler life, beautiful scenery, wide open spaces, fresh air, nice people,
good community, middle class American values, easier to make friends, country music and opportunity to make a living with extra $$ in savings account.
Second and Third choices?
#2 Wheeling, West Virginia
#3 Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
Also considering: Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Tennessee, Mississippi and Louisiana.
What is currently holding you back from moving?
$$$
Anything else you want to tell us that we don't know?
Older single woman, never married, no kids and no house. College education, state certification and extensive work experience.
If already in Huntsville, what do you like?, dislike?, pleasant surprises?, regrets?
Never been to Alabama.

AMSA, if you are looking for temporary housing until you find a house that you like. We currently have an apartment that we are looking to sublease. When do you expect to be moving to the area?

I am Asian American ... but with regards to 'chicken feet' ---- we are not too 'Asian' I guess...
Jellyfish, fish heads, sea cucumbers, octopus, squids, peking ducks - those are OK.
I will definitely look for Ding How.
Need to try that next week when we go there ... for house hunting.

Will be there last week of January.
My start date is Feb. 2.
I have a brood of 4 boys ... all under 10 so I think an apartment would be too small.
That would drive my wife up the wall ...

OOOOOO yah with 4 kids that would definitely be too small. Good luck to ya. I've only been living here since May of last year. So there seems to be a lot of us who are transplants.

There are two homes for sale on my street in the Twelve Stones subdivision of Hampton Cove. Lots of kids here, flat streets, excellent schools. Check it out.
You and I need to talk...
Yep, Four girls all under 10.
I am raising chickens and goats in my back yard for the dowry...
