I can definitely say you can find a modest home in a nice neighborhood for a little more than $100K, but you might have to look outside the city limits. NG is in Research Park, right across from where I work, and my commute is 15 minutes at 6am. I live in Harvest, and it is close enough to Hwy 72's many restaurants & stores, while being "almost country". It is very quiet at night because there are no major highways, either.

Sorry it took so long to reply. Have not checked this site in awhile. My husband worked on Future Combat Systems. He is a buyer. He had also worked in Long Beach, Seal Beach, Anaheim. Now is working on the Aries project.

Just a native Huntsvillian calling it like I see it. Yes, Madison is freakin' Heaven on Earth. That's been well-established on the boards.

I agree deesonic, the complexes along Old Madison Pike are iffy..in fact very iffy IMO!!! For a newcomer, I would not recommend any of them to another newcomer...with preference towards the Huntsville side of it and not the Madison. From my personal experience, we rented and unfort are still renting from a complex and haven't had the best experience there. Hate that we had to deal with it..since we are newbies, but I guess you live and learn. It's not one I'd recommend to someone else.
