Default Planning a Visit

I'm sure I read somewhere in the threads (yes, I did go through all of them), but I can't recall exactly wheres. Isn't there a drive/hwy that I should avoid when looking for lodging? University Dr. or something? I recall someone mentioning colorful characters and their associated drama, and I don't want any part of that. I'm planning to attend the job fair on the 4th. It doesn't necessarily need to be near the convention center. I'm trying to do this on the cheap but safe/smart, if you get my drift. I don't need 100 dollar a night fla la la rooms.

Hope to have all reservations final by tomorrow.

Thanks

If you need per diem budget (I think around $75 or $78) I recommend the Hampton Inn near the airport. If you want a really nice place for a little more go to Homewood Suites in Providence Village.

I just want something that's clean, quiet, safe, and isn't going to break the bank. I'm job hunting so this trip is on the DL and on my own dime.

Try Value Place in Madison on Madison Blvd. It is a weekly place but safe, clean and cheap. My POOR husband is there for several months now while we are trying to sell the house. NO FRILLS but quiet and clean.

We stayed at the Garden Hilton next to the Rocket off the freeway and were very pleased. It had a breakfast bar that was wonderful. And it was very accessible to all areas due to the proximity to the freeway. Also, Landry's Seafood was next door to it and the food is yummy.

I saw this place online, but since I won't be there a week, I ruled it out, as they charge the full week's rate. At least that's what their website says.

It is only about 250.00 for a whole week. you might spend that in1 or 2 nights elsewhere. if you are staying 3 nights you could save for sure.

You're right! They didn't have rates on their website but it does work out to save the $$$. Thank you.
