Default Giant Green moths

We just moved into a temp. apartment last week and we noticed some of the largest moths we have ever seen. They are a bright green color.Has anyone seen these moths? What kind are they? I tried looking them up in my daughter's butterfly and moth book, but since it is a child's book it is hard to tell. The folks at this apt. said they have seen them yellow and some with fuzzies and the wing span as large as a man's hand. They really are quite beautiful.

Default giant green moths

we had a luna moth at the house i work at last night. everyone was freaking out, i carefully caught it and put it outside. it stayed in one place all night - i thought it was dead. i put it on my hand and it began to quiver, i held it about 2 minutes and then it flew away.
it was so beautiful and i feel so lucky to have not only seen such a "cool creature" i had it sitting in my hand. i took some camera phone pictures, i only wish i had my camera. hope i'll see one again

We had one too, on the trunk of our tree. It was so cool, it even impressed my hard to impress 15-year old! Thanks for identifying it Evad35801.

OMG! We were visiting Huntsville last week and my sister called us out to their patio to look at this huge moth! It looked like something from pre-historic times! That thing was huge!
