Guntersville doesn't seem to be that far from town, wish they had something like this local. Hubby loves crawfish and both of us love seafood!!

McCollum's in Decatur is close to 50 years old and renowned for their fried catfish and hush puppies.
Other seafood there...not so much.
And personally, I don't care for most seafood. But the pups are awesome!

Don't know if anyone has mention Tony Romano's Macaroni Grill yet, but we were happy to found out that there's one here in Huntsville !

We need a good afghan kabob place. I have been craving some kabobs and chick peas with unusual afghan sauces.

Ditto on Logans.
Just ate at El Olmeca on Huntsville Browns Ferry and Mooresville Rd. Really good mexican. Great service and reasonably priced. They opened about 3 months ago and this is the first time we tried it.

I agree (something like Kabob Palace in Crystal City) but that idea will fly like a lead zeppelin. I just don't think the diversity is here. We'll get three more barbecue joints (one will have gibson in the name), two Chinese, three Mexican, and ten generic $12/plate beef-chicken-fish with rolls and "your choice of soup or salad" chain restaurants before we get something hole-in-the-wall middle eastern.

Update: We ate at Crawmama's last night and will definitely go back there. We had originally went over to Scottsboro to Unclaimed Baggage and took a viaduct down to Guntersville to visit the original Mike's Merchandise. My hubby seems to be a huge fan of the store. I remembered the suggestion made on this forum to eat seafood there, so we decided to try it. We also saw other places called Top of the River and Whetzel's Oyster House. Are those any good?
Looks like Guntersville definitely isn't lacking in seafood places and definitely not that bad of a drive from HSV. Thanks again for your suggestion

They have an El Olmeca in Oddmore {Ardmore}. At there last night. Same people also own Cameno real on University. All put Rosies to shame.

Is Camino Real actually good? We've drove by it several times and wondered. Didn't look like the greatest, but sometimes those places can be the best ones!!! Also, is there a Mexican food place in town to avoid? We aren't Rosie fans, so we are aware of that one.

I recommend Sam and Greg's on North Side Square in downtown Huntsville, right across the street from the city hall. Great pizza and gelato!
New China Buffet #3 has the best buffet in Huntsville it's located at 207 Jordan LN NW. It's a 'must eat' guilty pleasure when I'm in staying there!
Five Guys Famous Burgers and Fries is a cool joint with tasty burgers and great fries. I ate at the Carl T. Jones location, but there is another one located on Enterprise Way NW.
Those are just a few of my favorite spots so far in Huntsville, but I'm still learning my way around and trying to get to know the city. I'd like to check out a nice seafood joint there soon and a place called Soul Burger.
