HB2HSV: I made myself hungry for Johnson's Family Restaurant...got up this morning and went...they were closed. The good news is, I drug the family to Iveys and we loved it! I had an omelet, grits and biscuit, hubby had 3 eggs, bacon and grits. It was really very good. The folks sitting next to us had their "home fries" which looked SO good! They serve only breakfast on Saturdays from 7 to 1, and they close at 1:00. I'm definitely going back! Their lunch and dinner menu looks great as well. Meat and 3 sort of place. Right up my alley. Hope you like it!

If you like blue crab you must try the West Indies Salad at Wentzell's Oyster House. They have it as an appetizer or by the lb
TOTR is on the lake, actually it is on the other side of 431 from where Wentzell's is located.

Has anyone been to Scruffy's Seafood, next door? It appears to be run by the same folks, so I will definitely try it out also.

Being from New Orleans I was craving Po Boy's and when I found that place I was saved. Owners are from Slidell (just outside New Orleans), bring in Gambino's French Bread (traditional French Bread) and do a fantastic job.
I wish the po-boys were a couple of inches longer, but they do great cooking. Love the place, great service, great atmosphere. Only negative - too much Alabama/Auburn stuff up - should be Black and gold, purple and gold , and maybe some green and light blue
Geaux Saints!

LOVE LOVE LOVE D&L!!!! Their Lemon Pepper Chicken Cream of Artichoke soup is AMAZING!!! And I love the herb spread and crackers they bring out, mmmmmm!
They are so nice as well. One day I was at Averbuch, and popped in to get some soup. They had French Onion that day I was bummed, and he made me the cream of artichoke soup I love so much. How nice is that!!!!!

Brunch is my favorite meal When I lived in Destin, brunch was every Saturday and Sunday In Madison you are pretty much out of luck, if you are seeking a traditional brunch, not breakfast.
Someone did tell me that Chef's Table had a great brunch, but that is in Jones Valley. I have found special occasion brunches pop up here and there.

I am just a simple man, what you see is what I am, just want some decent seafood omelette, sizzling hot fajita, fresh mellons as fruit, and smiling & flirty waitress that calls me "hon" and fills my cup with strong coffee that can take paints off my tummy while I read the sunday paper. Is that too much to ask for in Madison?
ps- wifeo wants waffle...

Wild Flour is not too far from Madison, and they have Crab Florentine Omelettes and Belgian Waffles (sorry, no fajitas).
Dinner Menu
Jazz Factory has Sunday Brunch, but it's not the menu you're looking for. Plus zenjenn sez they are closing shop soon.

PO BOY's has some slammin' bread pudding, too - and interesting to note what seems to be an Alabama thing - the sauce that serves as a garnish is SAUCED...not for the little ones.
I am all about the bread pudding.

Was wondering about that...judging by the ad I just got in my mailbox, looks like it could be another Domino's sort of outfit (no thanks, will wait for Mellow Mushroom.)
