We were not impressed by Cantina Laredo at Bridgestreet.

Rosies is great-- for Mexican-- so far that entire Bridge street conglomerate of restaurants seems overpriced and we're not uber satisfied with Ketchup's prices/food either. I prefer, for the money and amount of food on plate, Red Robin if going to a chain.
Where is Main Street Cafe?

Dolce's/Ketchup and Cafe Laredo are owned by the same mother corp. I don't include the other restaurants in my assessment--disclaimer here--and I heard from many that Connor's was excellent--quality and price great.

Main Street Cafe
Travel south on Wall Triana towards Hwy 20/I-565. As soon as you cross the train tracks turn left (on to Main Street). It's on the left. Here is your link
Main Street Cafe
I'm wondering if they don't serve dinner anymore? The website only lists lunch hours

I totally agree, D&L Bistro is great, as well as Terra Nova's. I have also visited Viet Huong and would eat there again. I absolutely love Connor's!!! Their steaks melt in your mouth and I actually prefer them over Ruth's Chris. On the other hand, I don't like Rosie's although everyone I work with love it and I go there by default often. I tried Cantina Laredo once and wasn't impressed. I too am going to stick with Casa Blanca. We usually visit the one on University Drive.
I would love to try Le Bistro du Soleil. Can someone tell me where they are located.

Someone wanted a hole-in-the wall restaurant on another thread, and I have to mention the Harvest House. Although I'm not pleased that it has a smoking section a little too close to the non-smoking section, the catfish was pretty good and I've heard the breakfast is even better.

My two cents:
Surin on Airport Road for sushi and the best pad thai. Try their signature Supercrunch sushi roll..yum!!
Ol' Heidelberg for German. They do some interesting dishes and everything I've had their is awesome.
Clementines (behind Mullins). If you love chicken salad, this is the place to go. My fave is their fruit chicken salad.
Ole Hickory BBQ. We live out by the Maysville one so go there most, but hit up the one on N Pkwy occasionally as well. Beef brisket is my new favorite there. And fried sweet corn, omg! And we always save room for dessert. Homemade banana pudding or peanut butter pie!
Soul Burger is awesome. Be prepared to be 'sugared' and 'loved' on, cutiepatootie! (you'll totally get what I'm talking about after one trip :-)
Blue Plate...great breakfast! Hash brown casserole is great!
I am definitely going to try out Papa Gyro's from the recommendations here. Sounds great!

Sonny G's off I-65 and Thatch road near the Rocket has great Rib Eye sandwiches.
Toney's little Italy has great pizza for here.
Luciano's also opened in Athens by far has the best Italian food around.
Bison's on Hwy 20 cooks a mean country fried steak.
Fast food best all around deal is Talini's Itailian on 72 near research park behind Mcdanalds and Wendy's.
Lawlers stuffed baked potato.
Big Bob Gibsons Stuffed potato in Decatur.
And Number #1 in Hush puppies and catfish fillet's is Catfish Cabin in Athens on hwy 72 past walmart on the left.

I agree. Bridge street restaurants are very over priced. I like good food, not fancy resteraunts.
Main Street Cafe is in Providence. Not bad food. Little Tony's is around the corner and Cheese burger Cheese burger is on the corner. Mellow Mushroom pizza going up across the street. Also a nice steak house there....Something ? 29...Maybe Grill 29

Sarge, that's Market Street Cafe in Providence. Main Street Cafe is in Madison (with lots of recipes from her old restaurant in Decatur). It really is "Cheeburger Cheeburger" - it's a regional chain. And you're right - Grille 29 - the "e" added for...extra snobbiness?!?
