I am probably the minority on this though as I'd rather have three decent hole in the wall ethnic restaurants than another chain restaurant. (Disappointed with Tazikis on Whitesburg; could have been a bad night for them so I'll give them one more try but the food was bad. Also, the new Korean place on south Memorial Parkway, south of Martin had a unappetizing buffet - should have ordered the table BBQ grill entrees. Also thought Moe's Southwest Grill on Airport wasn't that good either - too salty.)
I'm with you. I want Huntsville to have places that no other place has, ie local homegrown places. I've never been to a Cheesecake Factory. I've heard it is good and fun, but I'm not dying to get one.

I went to a Cheesecake Factory in Charlotte. We had to wait for a couple of minutes (That place was jammed-packed). The food was a little below average. I ordered the "Pasta Da Vinci". The pasta was very crunchy, and they pretty much slathered salt all over it (it was too salty for my pallet). The chocolate cake made up for it. The building and atmosphere were pretty good, but the food and service there was terrible. I wouldn't hold my breath for them to come.

Cheesecake Factory, yuck. Old Spaghetti Factory... getting warmer.

I'm just tired of chains, I guess. I still want something vegan-friendly like Atlanta's Cafe Sunflower.

I am with you ~ I would love a vegan-friendly restaurant. Cafe Sunflower style or something similar to Real Food Daily in L.A. Mmmm....

Tai-Pan on Madison Blvd....is this any good? Any opinions on it? We've passed it several times and wondered if it was worth trying out.

I like Big Bob Gibson's in Decatur, but that's a hike, so normally I hit Lawler's on a regular basis.
