I'm going to try every Mexican place here where I see a majority of Mexicans eating. A very good indicator, at least in S. FL. (We'll see if that holds true in Huntsville.)
Star Chinese in Madison - will make Hunan Tofu and very well...
Po Boy's Factory up here in the northern area. Definitely not health food, but boy howdy, a treat.
Bandito Burrito Co. Quasi-Mexican. Bare bones, charming dive. Yummy Ranchero-ish sauce. The rice is perfect. The staff is friendly. No fuss, no glamour, weirdos welcome.
Can't get husband to eat at Bridge Street...Ketchup - $8.00 soup? Nope. We've already had enough of $7.00 cheese plates (in P.B.C., that consisted of three thin slices of cheddar cheese and a parsley sprig). Besides, I know how to make my own $8.00 soup, thanks to previously dating a chef or two...
I wish we had a Melting Pot here.

Hey - LOOK, Bridge Street now serves us! (well, I think Anthropologie is in there too, so two reasons...)

That is awesome news! I always have to drive to Nashville to get my fondue fix.
I am a member of The Melting Pot's Club Fondue. They send email coupons for free chocolate fondue on my anniversary and birthday, and also email specials throughout the year. You can sign up at the website

Racletting is a european style of eating fun food at home or out for dinner. Traditionally, in Switzerland and Germany, the name comes from a very rich super swiss type of cheese called Raclette Cheese. The people melt the cheese and serve it with onions, small potatoes, leeks, ham, and bread. The cheese is very gooey and yummy. Salads come on the side. The cheese and other stuff is cooked slowly on a large slab of rock/granite over flame/Electric coils. Home products are round or square with an electric coil supporting the flat girll section which rests above a group of small fry pans and handles/with spatulas that can go underneath the main grill. you can melt cheese in the pans and use it to support and flavor the meats and potatoes etc cooking on top. It is like fondue in that it is very communal and it's small bites of food over a long time of eating.
ENTER THE DUTCH.
We always take things and twist it to suit our style--incorporate it to what we have. We take our home raclette device and cut up bunches of different meats like sausages, ham, chicken, pork, steak etc. We marinate some stuff if we feel like it or just season with salt and pepper. We use any kind of cheese including raclette but we also use cheddar, gouda, brie, whatever you like--my daughter likes Monterray Jack a lot ... any rate, we also cut up different veggies like mushrooms, onions, peppers etc. or use bagged fresh spinach etc., and precut stuff is good too. Some people even do stuff with eggs -- and dutch style pancakes (between a crepe and an american pancake in fluffliness, but can be savory or sweet). We like sauces -- steak sauce or homemade sauces etc. We've even made tiny meatballs and cooked up mini burgers with cheese melted on top... okay... now I really want to raclette. And we serve salad or cut up veggies with it.
This is just a fun, easy communal type of meal that kids and adults like. It can be as low or high fat as one chooses to make it... we love our Raclette and often pull it out in winter time for an evening.
You can find them online via Sur La Table and Target.com has sets as well.

I knew that, but I've never eaten there. I have girlfriends in Nashville, so it's always a good excuse to go there
Melting Pot is just a fun place to eat. It can be intimate with just a couple, or lots of fun with a group. We've taken our employees to the Nashville restaurant for our Christmas party, and we plan to schedule this year's party at the Bridge Street location
They also offer an occasional "Girl's Night Out', which is a smaller version of the menu, and cheaper, since us girls tend to eat less.
I've also gone and just had the salad/cheese/chocolate items and skipped the entree altogether

Let's just say that anything chocolate--well that doesn't require an entree prior to eating it as far as I am concerned

Ate at PF Changs last night. It was great. Atmosphere - great, Waiter - great, food - great, price - great. I would choose that over Dolce or Ketchup any day of the week. I got there at 5:00 and there was already a group outside waiting!
