Bring Costco to Madison
Residents of Madison, how do we get a Costco over to our neck of the woods? You know it would totally be a hit over here and save us a lot of driving time/gas money.
Who needs fancy retail? Give me a big discount store any time!

The Huntsville Costco is closer to you than it is to those of us in Hampton Cove/Big Cove.

Ditto. We need one in Madison - perhaps in the new WaterStone (Wann Springs) development. Would be a big hit with the Decatur crowd if it were that close to I-565.

And it would bring in people from Athens as well. Nashville's forum did a petition to get TJ's into their city. Can we do that here? I'm going to the next Meet the Candidate meeting on Tuesday and ask Finley about it. Then I'll ping the other candidate Kirkendall about it as well. I have no political affiliation here as we just moved. Want to get a take on it from both and see what they say.
Imagine all the delicious tax revenue we'd get!

Just emailed Costco and asked them to consider our area for a new store. It's the first step--let's see what happens.

Decatur doesn't even have a Sam's, nor a lot of other stuff such as Olive Garden, Outback etc. We're told we can drive to Huntsville.

Hubby and I will join in on T. Joe's petition
He's finding similar products either unavailable or much more expensive in HSV than in San Diego. I'll have to ship things or squeeze some into my carry-on bag next time I visit. In my current 2 weeks here, I concur that I have to go to several different stores to find various food and drug items. And I'm not sure why mosquito repellent is so hard to find here...I'm being eaten alive! Can I be the only one?

Maybe? I easily picked up a bottle of OFF! at the local Publix, but I've rarely had to use it. I'm usually someone that gets eaten alive, but I'm happy to say I've only suffered two or three mosquito bites all summer - not really any worse than California.
Do you live near woods or standing water?

There are ton of mosquitos here as well--and I've been eaten alive as well--hence the screened in veranda... we're near the reserve with a creek going through it so that might explain it. But we don't have any woods around us at all (to my regret).
TJs is coming to Nashville--not here. It's about a 2 hr drive to the new store which will open in November. Check out their website.
Publix and Target have Off/repellent.
