I think MacDill in Tampa would be a target more than Redstone. MacDill is central command for the Army. Plus Tampa is on the coast and has a port not too far from MacDill.

During the cold war Huntsville was supposedly right after New York, DC, and Colorado Springs as a target. I doubt we are that high now, but with the new commands coming here the arsenal definitely needs to tighten up security.

Military target, yes. Terrorist target, nah. Most people in the world do not even know where Alabama is in the US.

What a really strange thread. It must be a slow day, maybe there are some links to post on this topic, Charles what happened?
Here is a link to start out
The Top 100 Terrorist Targets in the United States
No Huntsville is not listed, I am sure someone can find a site where Huntsville is listed, but I hope not

I guess that list might have some validity, but I can say with some certainty that Hoover Dam won't be going anywhere soon. Even if people were still allowed down into the dam, I doubt that it could be destroyed even with a small nuke. As the cement in it ages, it continues to get harder.

As a strike target, Huntsville is not very high on the list. Truly the strategic importance of taking out Huntsville is not high. Yes, there is NASA, yes a lot of Defense Contracts, and yes missile R&D. However there is not a large concentration of troops and war fighting material in Huntsville. The population is not that large to be a major strike either.
However Huntsville is a very good place for espionage. With the things like NASA, Defense Contracts, and missile R&D, that is what use we are to foreign governments, not terrorists. I’m talking about the Russians, Chinese, N. Korean, etc.

Actually at the rate Alabama's attracting industries, an attack is more likely to come from Michigan.

funniest thread ever
If I were in Huntsville...yes, I'd certainly worry about an attack from Michigan. Or Mongolia.

From that list, I find this interesting:
Economic Targets:
Oil Pipelines
Banks
Financial Institutions
Gas Stations
Oil Companies (UNOCAL Oil and other companies Bush owns or has stocks in)
Car Companies (Ford, General Motors, Chrysler)
Hmm...aren't they already an economic disaster??
