Actually in Huntsville you have a choice of two cable providers for high speed internet, Knology and Comcast. They compete against each other so new customers can usually get good deals. Knology will give you top quality service and performance. I'm a little biased in that view cause I worked for them some years ago when they originally built out network in Huntsville / Madison area. Of course you can get cable TV from Knology, and also phone service. No need for BellSouth, which got gobbled up by AT+T.

And I worked for Comcast in a past life. Fair and balanced high speed internet opinions...
Both companies normally do a good job, though their pricing structures and video features like VOD/HDTV can differ in quality, quantity and price. When I was at Comcast, for example, we offered 1500 hours of total VOD content. Knology offered much less. Comcast offered HBO VOD free for HBO subscribers and Knology charged for HBO VOD. But bear in mind that was 3 years ago. The world has changed since then. Just research it before committing so you're happy with your decision. Otherwise you'll have to take another day off work to change.
Madison only has Knology, not Comcast. We live in the county and only have Mediacom and DSL as options. We have no complaints as Mediacom video/HSI subscribers. Funny to say we 'only' have two choices in a rural area when you remember 7 years ago with dial-up as the only option.

I have Hiwaay (hiwaay.net), which uses AT&T lines. I have almost no interruptions, no pop-ups. They are great people to work with. And believe me, I have to have somebody patient and willing to answer the dumbest questions!!

DSL works great here. You have 3 speeds to choose from.

Word to the wise: I had AT&T Uverse here in San Diego and couldn't wait to go back to cable. The internet was fine, but the TV and their customer service were such a pain that I cancelled it all. This may seem minor, but I didn't like that I couldn't get my local baseball channel or my local weather and traffic on The Weather Channel. It was as if I was staying in a hotel...just got the alphabetical scrolling of U.S. cities, and I didn't really care what was happening in Baltimore or Philadelphia.
