Cloudmont Ski Resort Mentone Alabama (Birmingham: rentals, how much, elementary school)

A friend of mine sent me a link to see one of the features done recently by a Birmingham TV station about the skiing at Mentone's Cloudmont Ski Resort. In case you didn't know, if the temperatures are 28 degrees or below, there is snow on Lookout Mountain. Here's the link. Hope you can follow it. If not, then copy and paste it in your browser. Do they have any tubing or sled runs?

None to my knowledge. Basically just snowboarding and skiing.

Cloudmont has 2, one-thousand-foot beginner/intermediate slopes. There are 2 "pony lifts" to take skiers to the top of the slopes which have an elevation of 1800 ft and a vertical rise of 150' (I got this off their brochure)

What is the cabin market like in Mentone? I have driven through the area and it is really nice. How much would a 3 bedroom log cabin on 1-2 wooded acres run for in that area for purchase?

Prices are quite reasonable up there. I have thought about it myself. You can easily search on valleymls.com, select Moon Lake Elementary School.

Cabins are still selling up here in Mentone. Mainly in the 125-180k range. Seems cabin rentals are still doing alright, too. Although I don't do property management, I have a great handy-dandy list of cabins that folks rent out and those of cabin rental companies. I have calls or walk-ins almost daily who get a copy.

Spring is popping out everywhere and I'm hoping the rhododendron are as spectacular this year as they were last.
