A new area code?!
I was watching the news the other night and found out that the 256 area of Alabama is running out of numbers! As a result, there will be a new area code! What will be the new area code?

So there might be a new area code (shrug).. .what's the big deal? It's not like it will diminish your home property value....

Maybe. maybe not.
"You classify new people you meet by their Area Code. An "818" would never date a "562" and anyone from "323" or "213" is ghetto/second class. Best area code: "714, 949." Nobody likes anyone from the "909, 951" because it smells there."

It really makes no difference these days. Most larger cities have 10 digit dialing since they already have multiple area codes serving the city.
And the separation between a local call and a toll call is becoming blurred as so much of the population either has a landline phone with toll minutes included in your plan or you have minutes on your cellphone plan. So who worries these days about whether you're dialing local or long distance.
I've been here over 2 years and still have my cell number from another state. Why change ?
