Huntsville Retail
There are a whole bunch of new reatil centers that are proposed for the Huntsville area. Sweetwater, Waterstone, Harris Hill, other shopping centers, and of course the controversial, Peaks at Southchase! Work is finally about to get started on the Peaks at Southchase. The first phase will be an upscale apartment complex and other residential units!

Oh yeah, I don't know any updates on the proposed intersection at Zierdt and I-565.

At the mean time, the old shopping plazas just keep dying. The old Home Depot plaza, the Circuit City Plaza ...

i saw the same when living in houston, the flight was so bad there, they'd build a new kroger/wal mart/whatever 5 miles further out than the old one -- the old one would fall off so fast....
we should learn from the vast post-suburban wastelands elsewhere..
