It isn't a "Huntsville" thing, it is the fact that those cultures aren't represented here in significant enough numbers. I can't think of other cities this size that would be much different.

Huntsville does have good Thai, Vietnamese, German, a reasonably good Indian place...
That's why I take advantage of other cities' amazing cuisine when I am there--I can cook here and make a nice dish without spending my money on a meal out (though tonight we will be going to Red Robin cause we're treating my daughter and her friend).

It's just occasionally it would be nice to have something different to do other than hang at Bridge St. or eat. I love it here, but I do miss the bigger city every once in a while. Which is why I am glad we visit other cities a lot.

Interesting Wintzell's just went in down there in place of Steamers. Wonder what part of town they'll put this new addition in? Guess it's somewhere to try when I go back home on occasion.

Word also is that Burlington Coat Factory will be put in place of the old Dillard's location down there. The developer that bought the mall is trying to get it there, he'll have alot of work on his hands revitalizing that mall. Good luck to him LOL!!!

Just went to Station #2 last night. It was okay. The bowling was fun, but bowling is fun at a bowling alley as well. The rest of the place is like a Chuckie Cheese on drugs to me, but I hate noise. Also, the clientele was a real mix. I wouldn't want to be there after 9PM. I can see trouble happening there.

My kingdom for a Cheesecake Factory!

After 9PM, D&B does not allow children and the clientele changes. But it is nothing like Chuckee Cheese since they serve alcohol in the game room. Next time you are in Nashville, you should check out D&B. Also I don't think Huntsville will ever get a D&B or a Cheesecake Factory because of the small population.

Oh, I just used the analogy about Chuckie Cheese because of the noise levels. And oddly enough, the CC in VA did serve beer. Not sure if it does here.

But the bowling was fun at Station #2--

Wow! Beer at Chuckee Cheese! D&B serves the hard stuff though because they have an open bar in the middle of the gaming room. And a waitress who will bring it to you while you continue to plunk down the money. Think Casino and you are pretty close. How is bowing at The Station better than at the Madison Bowling Center?

I go the city, Nashville or Atlanta, for ethnic food. I just think it's a shame that I have to go out of state. I actually go out of state or use the internet to do the majority of my retail shopping. I would rather shop in Huntsville, but all the places that I like to shop are not here...
