Why are there five Aldi's grocery stores in Alabama - one being in Decatur, and we don't have one in Huntsville? If you haven't been to an Aldi's you should visit one. They manage to keep their overhead REAL low using some interesting techniques.

Wow, I thought that Wal-Mart was still open. Granted it's smaller and not a supercenter like others, but I didn't realize it was going "bye-bye".

Because we have 5 Walmarts in Hsv (Bulldawg says one is closing down) and one store in Madison. Maybe they don't feel like competin'

I think the reference is to the space next to the Kroger on Drake. I was at that Wal-Mart the other day, it is still as operational and classy as ever.

Yeah, it has been vacant the 5 years I've been here and it didn't look recently vacated even then.

Saw that space last week...at first I thought they were going to tear down that section, but they've put new windows in it. They've also been ripping up spaces in the parking lot. Islands??

I'd love to see a IKEA, Cheesecake Factory, Crate and Barrel, Container Store, Home Goods, Dunkin Donuts, and Max and Erma’s
