We are getting a Dave and Busters like place in Bridgestreet scheduled to open this summer.. The first location of "the station" is going to be in Cool Springs. They have a website but I can't remember it right off hand.
The Station, a 28,000-square-foot family entertainment center, is scheduled to open in early next summer at Bridge Street Town Centre in Huntsville.
Beverly Hills, Calif.-based O&S Holdings LLC, the developer of Bridge Street, announced it has executed a lease for the center, which will have a full-service restaurant and bar, live entertainment, 12 lanes of bowling, an arcade, billiards, VIP area, trivia TV games and rollerball. The Station will be built on the north end of the property facing Bridge Street's lake.
"We are looking forward to opening our second location at Bridge Street Town Centre," Mike Dooley, managing partner of The Station, said in a release. "Our family-oriented entertainment center will be unlike anything in the market and will certainly complement the strong tenant mix of Bridge Street Town Centre."
You know, I think Huntsville has other, more pressing problems than not having the retail stores that KE likes.
No way!!!!
That just couldn't be possible, there is NOTHING that could be more important than retail space.
However I think that Huntsville has done a great job of having a lot to offer for families considering the size of the city. I just had this conversation a few days ago when a few people couldn't believe I was looking forward to Huntsville...I explained all the great things, the minor league baseball, the minor league hockey, an ice rink with open skating for school aged kids(we had to drive over an hour for an ice rink in TX-my daughter is beside herself), a masters swimming program, this in addition to the outdoor activities-mountains, lakes, and caves...I could go on and on but I don't even live there yet, so I am sure most of you who DO live there know what is there
I am sure that once I am a full fledged resident I will realize all of the little annoyances that exist. Right now even without realizing it I don't think the retail is that important Isn't that why we have the internet, and cars, and vacations?
Johnny Rocket's.
But you've got Steak and Shake. Same thing.
Not even Birmingham has a Steak and Shake! Only Decatur, Huntsville, Mobile and Prattville have Steak and Shakes (for the moment).

Steak and Shake's burgers suck.. Johnny Rocket's has much better burgers. It is open 24 hours so that's kinda cool I guess.
I sincerely hope that "The Station" doesn't fall under the proverbial economic bus. I think an family entertainment complex in Huntsville could be all the rave if done right. Fortunately, it is O&S Holdings, who I believe also created the Monaco and surely that left a good taste in their mouth for entertainment venues in Huntsville.
Maybe Huntsville will be lucky enough to get these retail places that we want if someone who is a retail developer or someone similar will just happen to visit city-data and see what Huntsville needs and/or wants.
Please oh please Trader Joe's (preferably in some pre-existing empty retail space instead of yet another new building with a light in front instead of real traffic management).
