Google said that Decatur's population is just shy of 56,000. Wonder if it's above that mark?

I seriously doubt it. It will probably be slightly less in the next census. Unless they manage to count all the illegal immigrants.

Why is Decatur growing a slower pace compared to Huntsville? I thought maybe these cities would be growing a good rate since they are close to each other. Sweetwater need to hurry up and get built.

The article is from today's Decatur Daily.

Yeah, that's nice the Crossings (AKA "Target shopping center") is getting new retailers. We finally got an Old Navy. Big whoop. The Target is tiny - no food store. AT&T is emptying two other locations, which will probably remain empty. That's the only retail growth in town.
