Huntsville's Height Restrictions
Will Huntsville's downtown ever have 20-40 story buildings? Last time I checked, I found out that the city council revised the height restrictions, pushing the limit above 10 stories in the central core.

The height of a building may be limited by other things besides the City Council. It has to be economically feasible. When building up is cheaper than buying land to build out, buildings get taller. So, is the land in Huntsville so expensive that it is worth it to build a 20, 30 or 40 story building?

Not as long as the city gives tons of incentives to build on the fringes of the city and puts up obstacles against building downtown.

I always wondered why there were so few tall buildings in Huntsville.

Right now, Huntsville's skyline looks nice against the monstorous mountains. Just think if Huntsville really had some skyscarpers; its skyline would be to die for.
