Going to the Tea Party
I was wondering if anyone is going to the Tea Party on April 15th?

I believe my husband is...
Have thought about it myself, but do not admire the notion of entangling my young daughter, who would be with me. (Husband's retort is that she is already unwillingly involved.)

When you go and see the flier with talking points, I designed it. (Just the graphic design, not the content. Credit for that goes to the organizer, Christie Carden, who has put her heart and soul into this event.)

33458 - Hubby is right. It should be a safe event although there are lefty 'agent provocateurs' who are planning to disrupt the event - or fakers who plan to infiltrate the event with fake racist signs &C. There will be police and event security.
zenjenn - thanks for your help! Are you planning to be there?

Yup! I'm going to have to scoot pretty quickly after it ends in order to pick up my daughter from preschool, but I'll be there. I'm trying to get my husband and his co-workers to come, too. Maybe I'll see you there!
I can understand 33458's concerns. You never know what will occur at an event like this. It's not that it isn't safe, but if there is someone disruptive there that has to be dealt with, I can understand not wanting a preschooler or toddler to witness that. They can totally misinterpret what's going on and get scared so easily, and even if you try to explain it they might not get it.
However it IS only an hour. Having a friend watch your child might be an option.

Be ready. I have read that people from the Huffington Post and ACORN will be trying to infiltrate the tea parties across the country and trying to cause trouble.

I just hope that if they do, that it's reported properly. That's why it's especially important that if disruptive people are present, that those attending any tea party react in a calm, rational manner. If people start getting aggressive or antagonistic towards anyone trying to infiltrate one of these events, the media could easily spin that to make tea party attendees look like ranting, violent protesters. That's the last thing we want.

Reactionary, do you have someone recording that Dale Jackson hour so you can post if up on your blog? I'd love to hear it, especially you and Christie, but I'd rather be sleeping at 6 am.

An honest question- What is the tea party protesting? The federal budget? The raising of the highest income tax bracket from the capitalist 36% to the socialist 39%? The Obama administation?
If it's just the budget, where were all of these protests for the past 8 years (or any year that there was a budget deficit)?
