Just catfish for now. They get a little bigger and if pond starts holding water better, I will add a few bass.

The wet spring has caused one of my (medium sized) maple trees to grow a fungus and lose leaves (we think it is Anthracnose).

Ugh... and the clover and weeds in our front yard apparently love the weather...

The weeds are now past my knee...just need a small window this w/e to get that taken care of...'bout to go out there with a scythe and start swinging. (Husband mow-de-lawn, I do the other 'outdoor stuff'.)

However - everything else is benefiting from this wet spell. My plants look so much better this year. My new trees are just...it's good. Really good. Will be even better when you can see them instead of the weeds.

Is this what we should normally expect for the region - was last year still a reflection of the drought?

When I had researched the area prior to moving, averages indicated the winter months to be the rainy season, but I'm starting to think that's changed.

I dug a rose bush hole yesterday after work. It is much easier with a wet ground than a dry one, but still tiring.

Question - my crepe myrtle is still bare (no leaves), is this normal?

I wouldn't think so - ours are quite leafy at this point.

No, I think this is bad. All of our crepe myrtles have been out for a few weeks. Make a small cut in the canes too see if it's still green inside. Do you know what kind of crepe myrtle it is?

It's suppose to be a red one I ordered it online. It came as bare root.

I'll make cuts tonight.

Did you order it from Australia? Maybe it thinks it is autumn and is six months out of phase.

My crepes are green and leafy.
