Default Has anyone seen hummingbirds yet?

I heard one last week as it whipped by but have yet to see any...the feeder is still abandoned, only an occasional finch curiously exploring the odd feeder.

I have.

The first week after we arrived here. A hummingbird came to our balcony but disappointly left when he found we had only moving boxes there.

I saw some babies (or very tiny species of them) hanging around our front garden near the Coreopsis. Made my day...

Our locals showed up a little while ago--must have little ones---they've been bombing me when I've been in one area of the yard!

I'll keep looking out for them - had several last year but since that one, one day last week, NADA.

The feeder was hanging but clean/empty, because I'd only been supplying a tasty beverage for the ants and wasps during the past few weeks...is now engaged.

Need more flowers back here, too. The front is about to bloom but the back...yawn. The potted Powder Puff isn't ready yet. Jasmine is still emerging from a winter stall. Need to just go buy something already blooming.

My FL Passiflora on the side did not come up...yet. Still green at the stem but not doing anything. Another that my daughter gave me last year...well...we're still waiting on that, too. That was previously a very popular plant. Mondara is about to explode, as are the Coneflower and Daisy. I have something else already heavily flowering, but my tags are long gone...I'm trying to figure out what it was I planted...it's thriving, whatever it is...unless that's the Mondara and the other thing is my mystery...need to find my old nursery invoices - yep, kept 'em. All new zone plants, so not familiar.

I saw one last week. They usually show up one or two at a time at first. My neighbor always has them before I do. I need to fill up the feeder..

I have seen 2. Wondered if they were migrating through. I already have lots of blooming flowers so I bet that attracted them in our new home.

We had several last year, but I haven't seen them yet. I do have their food hanging, waiting for them! Could it be because I don't have my flowers out yet?

Not sure! I was very surprised to see hummers at the feeder about a month ago. New house, new location. Put the feeder out to just see and there they were. We are in the middle of nowhere too. I do have flowers blooming but the first hummers showed up really before there were lots of blooms. I already have one that guards the feeder so to speak. Keep the faith. Hopefully they will show up soon and provide you with their entertainment!
