Swimming in Huntsville
I've suddenly found myself with a lot of free time this summer for the first time in many years, and would love to be able to enjoy the sunshine by a nice swimming pool! Unfortunately, the only places I know of that are open to the public for swimming are all indoor. Does anyone know of any public outdoor pools in the Huntsville area? I live in SE Huntsville so something near there would be great, but I'd also be willing to drive a little bit. There is unfortunately no neighborhood pool for where I live.

Try the Sherwood neighborhood south of Bradford and east of Research. I haven't been there; though it is a neighborhood pool, I think it is open to the public for a fee.
There are two outdoor pools on the Redstone Aresenal if you can get on.
Madison Dublin Park has an outdoor pool.
Also, try

Several of the neighborhood pools in SE Huntsville are open to anyone. Memberships run about $400/year for a family, some pools (Whitesburg, Piedmont, ...) offer individual memberships for about half of that.

None in my neighborhood, and seeing as I don't frequently drive around other neighborhoods I don't know what other neighborhood pools are around/available for membership.

I think I'm just going to have to end up sticking with the YMCA - the prices for membership for an outdoor pool are a little too much for me right now!
