Places I take my 3 year old:

Viet Huong
Thai Garden
Jason's Deli
Rosie's/Little Rosie's
Blue Plate Cafe
Red Robin
Gibson's BBQ
Shea's Express

Not all are like "kid friendly" in terms of free food or geared towards kids, but I've found the menus, patrons and wait staff to be very accommodating to children. I like places that have more options than just chicken fingers, burgers and fries.

I love Viet Huong next to HH Gregg. What is their kid's menu like?

They have several things but I always get my girl chicken fried rice with extra veggies. She loves it. Whenever we ask her where she wants to eat, she says, "the Rice House".

I have to throw in an endorsement for Sante Fe Cattle Company, the new restaurant in Hampton Cove. Kids (under 10 I think) eat for $1.99 with a paying adult (includes a meal w/ side and a drink). THAT'S what I like to pay for my little kids who sometimes don't take more than 2 bites of their food anyways. Plus, the kids are completely entertained by the buckets of peanuts and the shells they can toss on the floor. They get a kids' menu to color on with crayons, the atmosphere is fun, and the prices for adult meals are reasonable.

The place is almost always packed though, and considering all the young families in the area, with good reason.

If you have a kid with a peanut allergy though, don't go anywhere NEAR the place!

Thanks. We need to try it again as a family.

It's at Lake Guntersville, but I heard good things about Top of the River

Top O' The River - Catfish & Seafood Restaurant

Also a place called Winzers??? (Scottsboro or Guntersville????)

Finally, in Scottsboro???, some restaurant at the state park???

I haven't been to any of these places buy a friend of ours (with lots of kids too) highly recommended them.

We like the fried dill pickles and catfish better at Wintzell's:
Welcome to Wintzell's Oyster House
