I'm not sure. I know Chadwick is off Martin Road. The part of Research Park i'm working is on Old Madison Pike.

You should learn how to use an online mapping tool:
from: 2000 Sunlake Blvd, Huntsville, AL 35824 (Sunlake Apartments) to: 34.713622,-86.680241 - Google Maps

I am looking in a price range below $500. Thanks for help in advance.

$500/mo is pretty low. A college co-op I knew was renting a 1 bd rm for $650. You may want to consider renting a room from someone as an option for now. You can check the craiglist for room for rent.
Another option is to room with your nephew (A&M bulldog), it is not that far of drive from A&M campus to the Research Park.
In fact, he should be helping you in the apartment search! He's been here for a while so should know the neighborhood quite well.

He does but I kind of want my own space because I have a family and they might come up and stay for a couple of days at a time. I have been searching on the Internet for apartments and I see some decent ones in my price range.

here a few options to get you started. please note these are just Internet picks within your price range and proximity to Old Mad. Pike CRP. I cannot vouch for the "quality" of any of them:
Shelton Park Apartments $420-$635
194 Shelton Road Madison, AL 35758
Madison Gardens $484-$734
6315 Madison Pike Huntsville, AL 35806
I would recommend you take a drive on Old Mad. Pike (OMP) and canvass the area between say Wynn Drive &OMP (Sherwood) -Robinhood Lane, Exchange Place (Hsv zip 35806), moving along on OMP into Madison City (zip 35758) until you hit HughesRd. It's probably a 3-6ish mi radius around that part of CRP/TRP (Thornton Research Park) you're looking at (Raytheon, NGrumman, SAIC, Stanley, ITT). There are tons of rentals (I can count 6 locations off the top of my head all on OMP). Then, there are more tucked in the "back" - off OMP take Shelton, Slaughter Rd. toward I565. And also the one apt. complex west of CRP (behind Target), but CRP traffic is light.
And this are only the ones close to CRP. But remember, "close" is not necessarilly the fastest route due to 2-laners and school zone (Horizon)/residential.
