It appears the last developed phase (5) of Hampton Ridge is now a mortgage foreclosure sale. Which means it will be up for a bid sale for other builders/developers to purchase. Same situation could occur, will cheaper or more expensive homes be built? What will be changed (if any) by the new owner?

Note, it was in Thursdays Huntsville Times legal section, but was not able to find it via al.com.

Note to add, this is the area in the back of Hampton Ridge which is developed with existing roads but has no homes built on the lots yet.

Interesting... wifey and I decided against Hampton Ridge because we didn't like the value, but also it started smelling funny... we wanted to know why they weren't building on that back section even though it was seemingly ready for quite awhile. That and the pool (or lack thereof; seemed like the pool should have been there by the time we looked at the neighborhood) did it in for us.

Hi everyone,

My husband and I are moving to Huntsville in the next few months (BRAC) and have been relying on the internet for our housing search until we can break away for some househunting leave. Hampton Ridge looked great in theory, but not so sure after reading these posts. Has there been any movement on any of these issues (Phase 5, the pool, etc.)? Thanks so much!

Well, they did build the pool and it was open for business this past summer. And they have been building homes like crazy on the same street as the pool. Don't know anything about the back section though. Welcome to Huntsville. We moved here with the BRAC 2 years ago and love it. We live in Clearwater, on the last street in the neighborhood with empty lots to build on. You should come take a look.

Thanks, quiltkat. We'll definitely look into Clearwater. Glad to hear you like Huntsville so much! We're really looking forward to moving to a more laid-back atmosphere and getting out of the rat race here in DC/NoVa.

Oh my goodness, your quality of life will improve 100% when you leave that mess up there. My husband was commuting from Stafford to Fort Belvoir, so he is really loving his 20 minute commute down here!
