Recommendation for Upholstery Work (Huntsville, Decatur: buy, live in, costs)

I'm thinking about having a couch recovered. Does anyone know who does good upholstery work in this area? I live in Monrovia and the couch is currently at my house.

Also, just curious--how long would something like this take? Several weeks? Would they come get it and deliver back to the house?

The best one I know is Decatur Upholstery, but I know that does you no good. Check the Yellow Pages.

Frankly, it costs so much to have something reupholstered that you could go buy a new piece for about the same price.

He is in Guntersville, I think. But he picks up and delivers for free in Huntsville area. Also, he is about 5 weeks out on doing the upholstery, but he doesn't take your stuff for the whole 5 weeks. He put me on his list of jobs, called me when he was ready to do it, and returned it 1 week from when he picked it up. It took 5 weeks before he called me to start my job, but at least I could sit on something the whole time.

I have had upholsterers pick up my stuff and keep it for 6-8weeks, leaving me with nothing until they get to it.

I also have had a lot of furniture custom done, and I think his work was spectacular. I had a complicated fabric on my couch (where the pattern had to match up a lot) and he did great.

Just had a soFa and chair recovered and was very pleased with Hornes on Bob Wallace. I picked out the material. They didn't pick up the furniture until the material was in and I only was without sofa for about 2 weeks. They were very professional. When I went in there I was up front with my price range in material to keep it reasonable. Did not get any long looks if you know what I mean. Now they didn't have to rebuild my furniture either so I think the price was great and I couldn't have bought my sofa and chair with the quality that I had for the price I paid for reup.
