Ah, WLS, my friend. You have chosen well, you have chosen Redstone over TACOM, Great. Next Remember you get 60 days on your orders and if you close within those 60 days you can get an extension for more temp quarters. Take this to heart, you have time. Next chose your realator carefully, the birds of prey are circling overhead. If you have no other means to chose a realator use a referal rervice via USAA or PenFed. You get a quality agent and a small kicker for using them (watch for the hate mail because I told you this) but do what you think is right for you.
Finally, and I can not over state this get a GPS and look at it for every location shown you and check how far the things that YOU do are to that location. Maybe it is work, Target, Church whatever. PM or post if you have any questions,

My family just recently relocated here in Jan. 2009. We have two school age children, so it was a middle of the year school change for them. Everything has been GREAT thus far, and we are really enjoying Huntsville. I am not sure of your exact situation, but I would suggest renting an apartment for 3-6 months. This way your family could be somewhat settled and you can take your time getting to know the different areas at your own pace. We just happen to be renting in Madison and the kids are also enrolled in Madison schools. So far, we have been really impressed.
FYI: We are staying in the Grand Reserve at Madison Apartment community. It has been truly stress free and we have been able to restore some sense of stability, while taking our time house hunting. Feel free to DM me if you have any other questions. I am sure you are gonna love it here! Good luck!

I understand that the apartment complex Hampton Falls is also a great place to live while househunting, etc. Heard good things about it even though I haven't lived there. It is in the Hampton Cove area. The schools in Madison city and Hampton Cove are both excellent.

We lived in Hampton Falls for maybe five or six weeks. A lot of recently single people there too. The residents consists of two types of people, relocating families like us, and recently divorced moms and dads who want to stay in the neighborhood and near their jobs and kids who are still living in the house they used to live in.
Getting divorced sucks, but I'm sure they loved the new freedom.
In a way, I felt like a diabetic kid in a candy store:
