I found out the Residence Inn is in Columbia High and Providence district.
Thanks to a tip here, I called the school to check and it is. Now I know I can go to Best Schools etc. but what are people's personal opinion on these schools. My nearest and dearest will be attending these schools so I need to know. Thx.

Are you for sure staying at the Residence Inn?
What would you do if Great Schools rated each 6/10 (it does) and people on City Data implied the same "It's OK, but not the best" (I don't know what they will imply, just being hypothetical...I don't know a thing about these schools myself.) Would you seek temporary lodging elsewhere? What would you do if City Data people said "Stay Away from Providence and Columbia"?
Do you have any specific target neighborhoods zoned for Buckhorn (from your other thread) you will be buying in?

Charles,
give the lady break. She was on the verge yesterday because of the housing situation. She'll have another breakdown again today. And tomorrow, for the next three weeks. At least Residence Inn is the SUREST thing she has right now: it is arranged for and paid for by the co. 2 months of "bad" school for the kids until she moves to Buckhorn won't kill them. The GS rankings are based on test scores, not on crime stats.
6/10 is not bad compared to the worst 1/10 (MLK elem), 2/10 Jo Johnson high.

My only concern for a temporary situation is safety. How safe is it? Is it a rough school or is it just your average ordinary everyday school? We have several homes on our list that we like in the Buckhorn district but we can't do anything until our house sells. I went to a very diverse school and it was a bit on the rough side and I did not like it. I felt scared all the time. It was a tough education in life but I had no choice. I just don't want my kids going to school feeling scared like I did. Not a pleasant way to live.

If they said stay away, then I guess we'd either see if we could find someplace else, which is stressing me out because it's like looking for a needle in a haystack, or I simply would just stay here without my husband and keep the kids here until our house sells. I really hate to separate the family but I guess if it comes to that, so be it.

Your kids will be fine. Columbia is not a bad school at all. It may not have the great the rep of say Grissom, Bob Jones, or even Huntsville High, but as I said in your other thread, your kids will be fine there if you're an involved parent. I'm a parent and I would be perfectly comfortable with my son at Providence Middle and Columbia High if he were school age yet. My wife's baby brother went to Providence and he's a great young man. Being overanalytical about schools and overprotective as a parent will simply drive you nuts. I understand your good intentions though. But like I said before, I went to SR Butler (GreatSchools rated 2/10) and I have friends that attended Bob Jones, Huntsville High, and Grissom who have told me stories of things that went on at their schools that shocked me silly. The difference is that most kids from those schools have strong families behind them. So they generally turn out just fine. You sound like a concerned and involved parent, so I'm sure you've got good kids too.

Edit: Did i mention Bob Jones had a GS 7/10 last year!! 9/10 this year (2008-2009 school year >>GS releases new stats the Feb following the school year end). That was the year I started keeping tabs on the schools. Well, for a year there I thought BJ was not as good as Grissom, contrary to what I was hearing thru the grapevine. But for gods sake, BJ was the only HS in Madison, the elementaries were showing excellent, and my kids were babies!! And I was looking at HS rankings, 12 yrs down the road!! Anyway, we decided to press on for Madison City anyway.
