HD Terrestrial Antenna: Which to get for Madison/Harvest area?
I've been through a couple of brands of terrestrial antennas to pick up HD. I have Directv HD service, which of course doesn't provide local channels in HD, so I've supplemented my HD DVRs with a Directv AM21 module which does allow me to integrate the over air HD into my DVR but doesn't do much for actually tuning strengthening or locking the signals.
I've tried of few brands of tv top antennas but they only really lock a good signal about 50% of the time.
My question is, for those of you that live in the Madison/Harvest areas, what are you using to get the over air HD? I don't want to have to mount something outside or go into my attic, just something I can place by my TV.
It irks me that my In-laws live on the other side of the mountain(s) and get perfect uninterrupted local HD without even having to use an antenna.

I have used two different Terk antennas and they are both great in Madison proper. Got them at Circuit City before they closed:

I live in Madison city limit. A $10 and at least 10 years old cheap RCA antenna from K-Mart gives me solid signal for all local stations.

According to this, www.directv.com/hdlocals, Huntsville is getting HD locals in September. According to the folks at DBSTalk.com, it should be the 23rd. I'm sure this could all change, but you might want to hold off any bigger investments.

Good news! For those without cable, like me - ESPN360.com is now working for Knology Internet customers. Watching the game for free on the big screen from my laptop. The only channel I was really missing when I cut the cable and $70 from my Knology bill.
