Atlanta had the foresight or luck to have a major hub airport. Ease of air travel is a major factor in location of corporate jobs.

I disagree cpg35223, I think Larry Langford is the best thing to hit that city in along time. In his short time as mayor he has done more for that city than so many of the past mayors.

You're in Huntsville(isolation or haterville) you will only here negative stuff here about any other Alabama city. You got get out of Huntsville man and see what Birmingham is really about. Like Atlanta, Birmingham has alot of black enterprise and entertainment along southern charm. It's really a great city.

just like another young'un will steal KE's job after graduation because they have couple years experience beside a college degree. It' s called competition and the survival of the fittest/BEST.

Birmingham is NOT a baby Atlanta. Say this to people who live in Atlanta and they will laugh at you. Don't get me wrong Birmingham is a nice good size city but its no way the cultural, economic giant like Atlanta that dominates the South. Birmingham is a Birmingham, appreciate it for what it is.. it's not Atlanta.

Huntsville will not become another Atlanta in the next century, let alone next decade.

Economically not at giant like Atlanta therefore it's baby Atlanta.
Don't get me wrong I think Birmingham should be Birmingham but the two cities are similar culturally. Ask someone that is native of Atlanta(Grady baby) you will be surprised. The city of Atlanta is made up of people from Alabama. Mostly because of civil rights movement. From Georgia Congressman from Selma,Business like Dreamland that stared in Alabama and is now based in Atlanta.Hank Aaron, Hollyfield and the list goes on. I can see what bulldawg is talking about when he says Atlanta is stealing growth. But that's not stealing they chose Atlanta.
