Can someone please tell me which of these would be the most romantic and which has the best food?
Stay home (since kid is out of house),

Turn down the lights...

Wear a little French Maid apron... and NOTHING ELSE !!

Being from Chattanooga, there are MANY other more romantic options than Mt. Vernon, which I always thought of as just a laid-back Southern food place...not a romantic atmosphere.

Table 2
Alleia
St. John's

...just to name a few.

The newly reopened Luciano on airport road is nice.
Cotton Row and Phoenix Bistro are both excellent.
Chef's Table (always a good bet)
D&L bistro is nice
I think Pauli's is pretty good -- just not very romantic.
bonefish can be hit or miss

I agree WHOLE HEARTEDLY with the Melting Pot! Love that place! And on really nice evenings, it is great to sit out on the patio and eat! Only if it is not too hot! If you let them know it is a "special" occasion, they will have a surprise waiting for you! They definately set the bar!

Chef's Table is a very great experience and the food is great, just not real romantic.

We really enjoy Dolce too. Very seductive atmosphere. They change their menu seasonally, and I prefer their fall/winter menu, which hopefully will be coming back soon!

Also, the D&L is excellent, my favorite restaurant in the area. They are very accomodating. They make a soup that I love, and if I go in and that is not their soup of the day, they often will make it special for me if I request it. The chef is amazing, and the atmosphere is very cozy and romantic at night. Food is OUTSTANDING! They have a great lunch as well too!

Connors has a great lunch, but their dinner has often fell flat for me. I have always found Bonefish is a better choice for dinner and has a comparable menu with pastas, seafood, steaks, ect. But neither is really "romantic". Connors has a very "masculine" atmosphere...it is a steak house, after all!

My wife and I recently had our 10th anniversary and I told her I was taking her out for a romantic dinner. She got all dolled up - and I drove us out to the most romantic place I could think of.

MEXICAN!

No joke, we had Mexican on our very first date when we were still teenagers. I was all prepared to go to the fanciest place in town but she wouldn't have it - she had a craving for chips & salsa that wasn't going to be denied.

Personally, I think it was a clever ploy to avoid giving me that first kiss, but in hindsight I suppose it all worked out.

Haha... maybe he should get a six pack, and a visa bill from her shopping spree for diamonds and jewelry.
