Landry's off 565 (Bob Walllace Exit I think) is pretty good.
My favorite place to eat is Po-Boy Factory, but I'm from New Orleans and they make a mean shrimp po-boy and gumbo.

Landry's is probably the best you'll find in Huntsville. Not really any of the low key stuff we had in MD & VA. I really miss Blue Ridge Seafood out in the Gainesville, VA area - blue crab by the bushel, picnic tables, a plate of crabs smothered in old bay and a mallot, woo hoo! The coast has some of these types of places though.
There's also a Bonefish grill in off airport and whitesburg.

Get on I-65 and head south until you reach a place called Mobile AL.

Wentzel's in Guntersville (30 mins from H'ville) has fresh gulf seafood. They have some blue crab items like fried crab claws and West Indies Salad. West Indies salad is lump crab meat and onions marinated with oil and vinegar. It is very popular in Mobile. I didn't care for the marinated crab claws I like the fried ones. They also have oysters and fresh shrimp. They get a truck in every couple of days.
I have also heard CajunMomma in Lacey Springs is good. They have New Orleans type food

... ship in live lobsters from Maine, cook them yourself! (or, get a good friend to come over from Maine and bring lobsters with them!)
I don't care for Landry's the few times I have tried their food. Granted, it was several years back, but it was boring enough that I never went back.
I agree, we do lack for good seafood restaurants.
Keeper, you got in between...with a great idea. I have never been that THAT Wentzels, but the one in Mobile was great. Good idea!

I had severe seafood withdrawals the first time I moved up here from Mobile.
Sorry but catfish is not seafood.
I have had good food at Wentzel's except for the marinated crab claws which had a strong basil flavor. The seafood is as fresh as you are going to get up here. You can sit outside on a deck on the water.
Welcome to Wintzell's Oyster House

I agree with Keeper, Wintzell's is great! On the other side of 431 about 1/2 mile from there next to Covenant Cove Marina is Top of the River, also has good seafood and great views of the lake if you get a table by the window. We also ate at a seafood restaurant on the lake at the end of the causeway going toward Arab, I think it was called Boondocks, mainly open air rustic place with some inside seating. I was not impressed with the quality of food and don't think I would go back. One place I have not tried is Catfish Cabin up toward Albertville on 431, has anyone been there?
