Me! Waving my hands in the air I've been here 2 years now. Still homesick, but do love it here.

Hi!! Nice to "meet" both of ya'll!!! Where did you live in Nashville and where do you live in Huntsville? I lived in Nashville my entire life..been in Huntsville almost a year now (husband's job is here and husband is from here). I lived in the Old Hickory/Hermitage area in Nashville and now we live in the Hampton Cove area in Huntsville. I like Huntsville ok but I am a bit bored from time to time and I have unable to find a job here !! I too get homesick..and very much miss my friends and family!!!

Hi fellow Nashvillian's! I moved from Murfreesboro. (Actually, came here kicking and screaming, lol). We live in Madison. I'm so thankful to be here for the real estate market...got out of dodge right in the middle of our market down turn in Nashville. (It came to a screeching halt). While I understand the market is down a bit here, I believe it is in much better shape than the Nashville market has been. I had lunch with my old Broker yesterday and it sounds as if the market is starting to recover a bit in the Nashville area. Great news for all of us I own 2 rental homes there and would love to unload one of them and purchase a rental here.

rmepilot: Still commuting? Ugh! I did that for a year. Not a bad drive, truly, but when you "have" to do it, it's the pits!

Nashvilleishome: Love the Old Hickory/Hermitage area. Hampton Cove is beautiful, isn't it? I also love the Jones Valley area.

I just sold a home to another Nashville couple. Maybe we'll take over the area

I live/own a home in Pleasant View, half way between Nashville and Clarksville.

Currently staying off of Old RailRoad Bed Rd, until we officially move down. Plan on buying in Hampton Cove as Madison seems a bit oversold/crowded. Plus, I prefer the drive to the Arsenal over the Mountain vs. County Line Rd. / I-565. Main priority is Schools, but other factors will play in also.

The commute for me is two hours and only on weekends.

rmepilot: My assistant moved here from Clarksville! Her husband is with Bridgestone.

Pleasant View is a beautiful area. I can see why you would prefer Hampton Cove! We are happy here in Madison, but I do love the mountainous areas all around the Huntsville area.

What's sad is, the Clarksville market is doing much better than here or Nashville. My friend got asking price for his house and was only on the market a few weeks.

I'm waiting until next spring, which also allows my Daughter to complete Kindergarten at PVES.

I had a condo (townhouse) in Nashville (Hermitage) I had bought and had to sell it when I moved here. I got really lucky and it sold in about 2 weeks..I never dreamed that would happen!! I loved my little condo and really miss it a lot though . Couldn't have 2 houses though!!

Yeah, Hampton Cove is beautiful!! We are hoping to upsize to a bigger house soon..can't decide if we want to stay in this area or move to Madison. I love Jones Valley too! We had our house on the market for about 3 months recently but had hardly any traffic as there are 8 others in our neighborhood for sale and all have the exact same floorplan..so we decided to take it off and give it another shot next year. Sounds stupid but one of the main reasons we want to move (other than a bigger house) is that we want a pool really bad and we can't put one in here.

I sure don't miss Nashville trafffic!

Nashvilleishome: You are lucky that your condo sold so quickly. That's great. I have a rental I want to sell, but the value has dropped. Since I don't have to sell it, I"ll just hang on for a while longer. Getting a better tenant would fix that problem, lol. I am lucky that I have a great renter in my other home there.

Come on over to Madison. I love it here! You know Madison was voted number 2 in the country as the "best place to grow up".... You'll miss the mountains, but we do have some beautiful areas over here as well

I remember fighting Nashville traffic in the morning and late afternoon. OH MY! Remember when they were doing all of that work on I-40? I thought they'd never get that completed. I just love having Nashville folks here
