Extended Family Gathering Place
Looking for a weekend get away with extended family. We will have about 12 people & would like to all stay together. Is there an area or place you would suggest for housing? Ages ranging from 4-65. Activity level ranging from sofa only to let's go, do, play....
Coming from Birimingham & Memphis.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Henry Horton State park in Marshall County Tennessee has cabins, a lodge, park facilities, a pool, golf, and while quiet and scenic is relatively close to Murfreesboro and Nashville for shopping or entertainment.

Our family stayed at a bed and breakfast in Chattanooga, in the arts district. We loved it! We had the entire house rented out. The TN aquarium is near...young and old both enjoy going.

Cabin Rentals on Lake Wilson in Town Creek, Alabama | Doublehead Resort
I haven't been in many years, and not heard much about it lately, but I attended a few group outings at Double Head in the past. They seemed to have something for everyone. You could rent the whole lodge or private cabins, even reserve the entire resort for a private event.

I'll second all the state park suggestions as well as the Doublehead suggestion. Our family has used many of the state parks for reunions.
One I wouldn't particularly recommend any more is Henry Horton--the last couple of times we used (the last time was last summer) it we weren't particularly happy. It needs updating, wasn't particularly well-maintained, and both times, at least one party reported bed bugs.
Nice golf course. I guess if you weren't staying in the lodge, it'd be great as a day-use place. Hey teach didn't mention it also has a skeet range.
