and if the house isn't significantly paid for - Life insurance - so the beneficiary pays off the mortgage comfortably.

I understand that this area is overdue for a huge earthquake - similar to the New Madrid in 1811. My husband thinks we should have earthquake just in case!!!Believe me if we have one like that where the Mississippi ran backwards for 3 days and Daniel Boone's house with HUGE limestone block construction was moved off its foundation by 3 inches, we will all be dead and it won't matter.

Well looks like it's going to rain on Friday afternoon again. I should go get my winter seeds and spread around the yard so the rain can help it germinate.

I have earthquake insurance. It is really cheap; a little over $100/year.

4.6 only, eh

Back in California, we don't even bother to get out of chair unless it's over 5.5

Winter annual Rye.

I hear it attracts deer, so maybe I can get deers to go across streets, over several traffic lights, and come over to feed on my lawn.

Just plant pansies to attract those deer. Have had deer come right up to my door and eat them.

Well, to be fair - you can get flooded out anywhere. When I lived on the coast the oft heard truism was that more people die from inland flooding.
