local/semi local furniture manufacturer?
Does anyone know of a local furniture manufacturer? It doesn't have to be Huntsville, I am willing to travel.
If there isn't one, the next best thing would be a local retail outlet that sells furniture made in the US.
I am a local/American made junkie. I live here, I get my financial support from here, I should spend my money here. Sometimes it is harder than it would seem, but very doable, and most times isn't any more costly than supporting foreign economies.
Thanks for any help.

Southern Motion - About Southern Motion
There are more - you will have to do some interenet research. I just purchased a sofa & loveseat from another company out of MS too, and have the same philosophy about buying American. Much of the furniture made today comes from China or Thailand or Indonensia, and the quality is not great. If you are looking for casegoods, i.e., dining room, bedroom, etc., please consider buying used & having it refinished. I purchased a set made by Drexel & had it refinished... gorgeous, and it will last forever!

Thanks, but I will be sticking with the Carolina Chair company. I was just hoping to support a local Alabama/TN Valley business if I could.
They are american made, high quality, and semi custom all at a good price.
I will spend hours in the store looking for american made products, Hanes sells socks that are american made, so I buy Hanes. I wrote a letter when the underwear started to be made in El Salvador. I am buying Cambria counters because they are the only quartz product made in the US, I have lists of preferred brands because they manufacture in the US, I write letters letting the companies know why I am brand loyal to them, I am just like that, sorry.
The quality isn't my only concern.

Tammie2, I'm pretty much like you--prefer to buy American.
The following is a link organized by product types showing what American companies make what...it may help. (I have found one item that isn't so any more, so it itsn't 100% accurate any more.)
Made in the USA Products Directory

Yeah, I wondered about that too.
Had to read that a couple of times.

Tammie,
I also prefer to buy american made products, but it is never any garanty that you will have a quality product.
There is just as much junk made in the US as in China or other countries.
Actually, one big name US boots company improved their quality when they started making their boots in China.
I like to buy american, but only when the quality is good.
