We just did the Tennessee Valley RR trip this weekend out of Chattanooga. If you haven't found this wonderful event, please give it a try! Their web site is www.tvrail.com. We did the Autumn Leaf special and a thumbs up!Everything was authentic and the steam engine was so much fun to see and hear as we chugged along. There was also a reenactor and historian on board and even a stop at the battlefield. We plan on doing the Hiawasee trip next. For parents they also have a trip to the North Pole. Really a good organization and worthwhile to do. we met people from all over the USA who had come to participate.

We spent Saturday at the Alabama vs. LSU game - also worthwhile, for us anyway!
I've always wanted to go on one of the train rides out of Chattanooga...but they fill up fast! My brother-in-law is a railfan and has gone on all of them.

Don't forget our own North Alabama Railroad Museum group that has short trips out of Huntsville. Their fall color trip was also on this past Saturday. Santa Trains are coming up.

Does the train have free high speed wireless internet?

I don't know Charles but you can call them and ask. The last trip for the Battlefield/Autumn Leaf special is Saturday. Well worth it. The number is 423 894 8028. The hours are ET. there were families on the train and they had the seats that faced each other. I did see some men with electronic things. Didn't really pay attention. If you go, the Crawfish Springs in town and the old mansion and the slave quarters are very interesting to visit during the lay over. I never realized that the site was also the training ground for the Spanish American War and the site for the reunion of veterans of the battle in 1890 . It was fun to eat and be called for a seating in the dining car. Be sure and ask for a later seating. Ours was too early!
