Im planning a trip in the next month or two. the two places i really want to visit is Huntsville or Hoover. Has anybody actually lived there, that may have info on the two. It seems you get more house and more land in huntsville. Hoover apeals to me because of it being close to birmingham, but not in the city. any comparison would be great. thanks

I love Huntsville (because I live here) but think Hoover is a beautiful area. I think housing prices are probably comparable, depending on which area of Huntsville you would choose to call home. Madison and South Huntsville are in line with Hoover prices I would imagine. Hoover has great shopping Huntsville has it's fair share, but Hoover is the best....imo.
I would compare the schools and see how they rate. I know Huntsville offers some of the states top High Schools. Check www.greatschools.net That's a great place to start!

IMO, Hoover has more traffic. 150 and 31 stay uber packed all the time. Huntsville has it's fair share of traffic, but for the most part, the civil engineers knew what they were doing up here and designed the roads to be way better than ones you would see in areas of Jefferson county.

I used to live in Tuscaloosa and I went to Birmingham alot for food, shopping etc. My in-laws live in Pleasant Grove ,which is also a suburb of Birmingham. Since I've lived in Huntsville, I see so much ease with traffic flow than I ever saw on my visits to the Birmingham area. In addition to the vasts amounts of places to shop and eat that I never was prvy to in Tuscaloosa. Once again this is all my opinion, good luck to you.
