I'm a runner and I was wondering if there are any quality running trails or greenways in Huntsvile. Thanks in advance.

Huntsville Running Park has a x-country course, it is off of airport road (west side of Parkway). I actually haven't been to it myself, but I know people who train there with the Huntsville Track Club.

Monte Sano State Park and the adjoining Land Trust have tons of trails. Some are more technical than others. The South Plateau Loop is a relatively rock and root free trail, about 3.5 miles that stays on top, so the inclines are gradual and not too long. Head down the side of the hill and it can get steep and rocky, but it is an awesome workout.

Green Mtn Nature trail is a nice, smooth loop, maybe 1.5 miles around a small lake. There are a couple nice inclines but nothing too brutal. It is a pretty run but can be crowded on a nice weekend. It is empty early in the morning and during the week though.

There is the Madison Cty Greenway system. Don't get too excited when you look at the map, most of that is "proposed or planned".

The Aldridge Creek and Indian Creek trails are both nice. I especially like Aldridge because you can take it all the way to Ditto Landing and then run alongside the Tennessee River up the Madison County Boat Harbor. However, there tends to be flooding along stretches of it along Hobbs Island Road. Man, I need to get back to running...

There's also the Huntsville Running park off of Airport road, a 5k out and back course along the golf course.
