Default obedience training/ vet recommendations close to Elkmont?

We just moved from south Huntsville to Elkmont and we really love it. The only problem I'm running into is finding a new veterinarian for the animals that's close by. I am about 6 miles north of Athens. We went to Whitesburg Animal Hospital when we lived in town and they really are wonderful, but I need to find someone closer.

I was also wondering if anyone had any recommendations for obedience training as well. I know about PetsMart and Petco, but I work close to Huntsville still and don't have time to go home, get the dogs, then get back there before the classes start so again, Athens area or Ardmore would be perfect. I have an 8 week old lab/great pyrenees puppy, but she wouldn't be starting for a little while yet. I want her to have all of her shots and everything first. I have a five year old cocker spaniel as well, but she's pretty well-behaved and I'm more concerned about finding an obedience class for my puppy. She's going to get big and I want to make sure that I'll still be able to walk her and everything safely as my husband works six and seven days a week just about and I have more time than he does to take care of the dogs. I tried searching on the forums and couldn't find anything that would be close by, so I'm hoping someone here might have someone they'd recommend. Thanks!

We live in Elkmont and use Family Pet Care on East Limestone Road. We've never had any problem with them. As far as obedience training....I have no clue.

I had problems with Family Pet Care on East Limestone, and will never take a pet there again. One of the veterinarians there completely misinterpreted my dog's blood test results. The numbers were well within normal ranges for his breed, yet she told me he was in kidney failure and that if I didn't feed him a certain kind of food (which they sell), I would be killing him. She also yelled at me for reading his chart, scraped his teeth without my permission, and did not call me to pick him up after a procedure as I had requested.

I now use Town and Country Animal Hospital in Athens, and am very pleased with them.

We have used several vets in Limestone County and recently found Wyatt Galbraith in Pulaski, TN to be an excellent vet and very reasonable! We now take all of our dogs to this Dr. He is approx 20 minutes up the road from Elkmont.

Kirstens Professional Dog Training in Toney off Carters Grove is an excellent trainer. She offers on site, one on one and group lessons.
