Out of the three towns which is the best? I have 3 kids that I need to think about schools. My husband works in Decatur North west. So I need somewhere within 30 minutes of driving time.
We also have a budget I need a 3 bedroom apt around $700.00. We need an apartment for 6-12 months. Just until we can buy a house. I need a good area with good schools. If anyone has suggestions, I would love to hear them.

Best? Depends on what you're looking for in a town.

A safe place, near shopping and low crime. You know somewhere you aren't afraid to get out of the car. I've heard Athens, AL is nice. They have cheap apartments. Has anyone been to them?

You are pretty much in the exact same boat as us Beka, except we are still looking for jobs. we have been looking at the Great Schools website, and then using the school zone map, which wasn't easy to find, and then trying to decipher exactly where the apartments are on the school map. Good times!

I would begin my search after deciding on a school district. You can search www.greatschools.net and go from there Great public opinions from parents that have personal experience with the schools as well as test scores, etc!

My husbands co-workers have told them that Decatur isn't a very good area for kids. We really didn't like the area too much. I've been looking in the Moulton area or Trinity or Athens. I really liked the Athens area. It was beautiful.

I would pick Athens over those 3 choices. Moulton and Trinity will most likely just have your kids going to Decatur for anything fun anyways. I have some inlaws that live in Hartselle and really like it there.
