This storm wasn't all that strong over here.

I ended up with over 6 inches of rain and my highest wind gust was 60 mph. I had sustained winds at one point of 40 mph.

But people 'over there' would think otherwise.

You were acting concerned and very excited about the heavy rain and winds last night.

If name calling makes you feel good, have at it. I'm just stating the obvious fact that the media was extreme with their 24/7 coverage and over hyped it, when it was obvious it was not to the degree the claimed it was. They wanted more viewers and this storm was a great way to get it.

We care about PEOPLE ,
Yes but 99% of the time if people don't panic and do stupid things they will be fine in a smaller storm. A Cat 1 is considered a smaller storm. Not saying there will be no damage but "most" people will be just fine. There are always tragedies even when we drive on the highways. It's good to have a healthy respect for Mother Nature but it never helps to panic.

There will be more property damage and clean up than anything else.

For all the argumentative folks on this thread...

Who CARES what level of hurricane it is...? THE ISSUE WAS/IS THE POTENTIAL OF THE STORM.

**It is PEOPLE and SAFETY** and then property. Evacs are ordered to: PROTECT PEOPLE-PREVENT LOSS OF LIFE AND INJURIES-

This storm had/has that potentiaL...do we have to say: always err on the side of caution? Just because YOU might not be seriously affected does not mean OTHERS aren't.....
