Yes.
There is other severe weather (tornadoes, lightning) to be aware of, as well.
It's not always the sunshine state.

Well, this will certainly be a HUGE bullet dodged for the first year of the expanded citizens fund if no hurricanes come in.

A couple more years of no hurricanes and they may actually have enough money gathered to fund the claims and not have to raid the taxpayers.

I'm REALLY hoping for a couple more quiet years. fingers crossed.

Well you know they say 3 times is a charm. Maybe next year they can get all excited again and hope for the worst. I can't wait to hear why the predictions were wrong this year. What did they blame it on last year. El nino?
I didn't see them predicting Katrina.
