We haven't anything of note in 10 years- that's why. Anyway, even tropical storm conditions (which is what we more than likely will get, not having my hopes though) is exciting compared to the usual boring ass weather we get. No one was ever speculating that this was going to be a Cat 5 anyways.

maybe because i experienced a cat 5, i dont understand why anyone would want one of these things hitting their hometown. But hey, this thing looks like its going to be nothing and gives us at least a day off work or school. cheers

Well, there's a clear difference between a Cat 1 and a 5....not every hurricane is a 5.
I think we're going to get some decent rain and wind out of this. Tropical storm force winds I think with some rain. I don't think it'll be "nothing". Maybe compared to a 5.

yeah man, compared to a 5, this thing is nothing. If you ever experience a 5, you'll know what i mean. Its an insane experience
I was living in Miami when Andrew hit. I've never seen anything like it, and hope to never again.
But a tropical storm is fine with me. Cleans out the palms that are not self-grooming.

i lived in the hot zone/ground zero. The noise itself was insane.

Damn. The strongest I experienced was Wilma which was a 3, and that was an experience on its own. I'm just excited at getting something interesting rather than the abnormally dry and hot weather we've had this summer.
I don't think I want to experience a 5 though.....a 3 or 4 at the worst.
its not just the storm itself, its the aftermath. #tentcity
