I think its absurb, I was hoping that someone had found a battery operated tv that would work. Just listening to the radio isn't enough for me, but I guess it might have to be when it all takes affect.

These are nice, but you can't VIEW the radar the weather guys broadcast during the storm. I want to see the news guys during the storm.

just another screwball idea from the government, why they did this is beyond me, except that that can monitor what you are watching now.

I think that this is very unfair...the Gov saying we have to convert. Not only do we loose the ability to use 4 inch TV we also loose the ability to know what is going on in ANY emergancy & the ones in your cars wont work either!! This really pi$$e$ me off!

If power is out I run generator and big dish if dishnet is out due to rain etc.My big dish has CNN and Weather channel for around $30 per year, also wild feed ABC etc.,wouldn't be without generator, was out 5 days last time.

I would hold off of getting them since it will be a while before you can actually use them.
Not true, you can use the boxes now. I do not use cable or a dish. I hooked up the "box" and added like 20 channels.

The reason is simple... $$$$$$ They sold the spectrums and made licensing dough.. Whats crzy is when i first learned about this, the hurricane aspect wa the first thing I thought of too. I really helps having that little tv to tell you whats going on. Cable will go out, and power will go out. A little battery powered analog tv is what you need. I guess will be listening to radio!

An absurd thing is thinking you'll have power at all during a hurricane.
