Monday July 4, 2016:

As of 9amMDT Blas has strengthened into a hurricane. Could become a Cat3 or 4 within 48 hours before weakening later this week, heading away from land.

Winds 75mph, moving WNW at 13mph, pressure 994mb (29.36in).

Very favorable environment for strengthening next few days. Late this week will start to enter slightly cooler waters and drier air though which should start a weakening trend by late week.
