27Jul18 8aPDT/11aEDT: Tropical Depression Eight-E (formed yesterday) organizes enough to become Tropical Storm Gilma with the 2aPDT/5aEDT update. Estimated winds 40mph, moving WNW 17mph, pressure 1006mb. No threat to land currently. Heading out towards the Central Pacific. Currently about 1,325 miles WSW of tip of Baja, and about 1,825 miles E of South Point, Hawaii.

Not expected to strengthen much at all, if any, then towards Sunday wind shear and cooler water temps weaken it.

Official updates for Eastern North Pacific basin storms comes from the US National Hurricane Center based in Miami, FL. Updates are issued at 2 & 8am/pm PDT (5 & 11am/pm EDT) here: https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/?epac

28Jul18 2pPDT/5pEDT: Winds 35mph, moving WNW 10mph, pressure 1008mb. About 1,395 miles E of Hilo, Hawaii. Conditions unfavorable for development...falls apart soon.
